[I suppose some of you would call this a rant...I wont argue] I want you to think about how things were several years ago. Even several decades ago. Crime? yes. Racism? yes. Divorce? yes. Hypocrites in office? yes. War? of course. Whats the difference between then and now? Frequency and intensity. What any websters user would call "peace" is is slowly and surely becoming a thing of the past. I had some kids come by my house the other day and they very rudely banged on the door for about 10Straighth seconds. I finally rushed over to the door, and they stood there with a smart alec grin on their faces asking me if I wanted to buy something. Of course I told them no because of how rude they had been... you should have been there! I thought about the past and realized kids werent that way back in the day. Kids respected their elders. Its not like that anymore. Makes me worry about the office holders of tomorrow. Im seeing more and more in this society, an addiction to the concept of being "politically correct". It makes me sick that you cant have an opinion unless it falls within the guidelines of society. And here we are waring with each other day to day over hair splitting ideas like "which term can a woman kill her baby" (what?!?) "When is cheating healthy for a relationship" (What?!?) "why you should say 'yes' more to your kids" (what?!?). To make things worse, we have people running this country who act like children in a school yard fight. Arguing about who is a bad mother (palin) who cant be president because theyre too old (McCain), people saying "youre racist" if you didnt vote for Obama. Moreover, the parents of yesterday are not the same as the parents of today. The parents of yesterday would have lit the fire under their childrens rear end if they came home with poor grades. The parents of today want to pick a fight with the teachers because of their kids grades. Now days were trying to blot out our wonderful moral heritage in this nation. We're losing rights. We're going deeper into debt, and middle class (the builders, andstrengtht of this country) are getting the shaft from all directions. Barbara Bush said something really really wise. She said to the tone of this: "We'll do our best to fix things in the white house, but it will be to no avail, unless you do your best to fix things in YOUR house". Please people. Make RESPECT a major focus in your home. If you dont, the world is in trouble.... Read More »
